LEARN TOGETHER, PLAY TOGETHER

Want to know what you’ll learn at KitchenJam? Here’s the rundown on all our classes. Each class is designed to give you the skills needed to be the best guitarist you can be at every point of your journey.

Develop your guitar proficiency with different techniques and learning approaches, all taught by an accomplished guitarist.

FINGERPICKING TECHNIQUE

Fingerpicking classes focus on developing fingerpicking techniques, including folk picking, fingerstyle technique, and playing lead lines on the electric guitar with your fingers. You’ll improve your technique through various methods, including learning songs and splitting melody and bass lines.

While you can learn these techniques for both acoustic and electric guitars, the class emphasises the unifying feature of no picks being allowed, to help students embed the techniques into their playing and make them useful across different contexts.

SPEED TRAINING

You might think that the key to increasing your guitar speed is playing faster, but our Speed Training classes teach you the opposite. We highlight that the key to speed is slow, relaxed, and efficient movement.

Learn from accomplished technical players and work on chords or lead lines to improve your speed and proficiency.

Each week, students learn how to develop their speed through different techniques, which can all be applied to practice and performance outside of the classes. But speed isn’t the only goal here; these sessions develop skill across all aspects of guitar playing.

SONG JAM SESSIONS

Unpack a tune in Song Jam Sessions and perform it at the end of the class. Students come together to learn a whole song over 40 minutes, and in a fun, sometimes unpredictable, low-stakes environment, regardless of skill level.

At the end of the session, go from practice to showtime in a group play-along. Jamming with other guitarists makes it a valuable practice experience, providing a fun and engaging way to learn and perform songs and enhancing overall playing skills.

KitchenJam Conditioning

KitchenJam Conditioning is our signature guitar mastery class. These classes are designed to help our students progress in guitar, whether they’re beginners or advanced players. Classes start with warm-ups and move into techniques appropriate for the student's level, ensuring progress. By the end, students jam over chords or a specific song, applying their learning to the piece.

The focus is on using the song to enhance specific learning levels, with the potential to revisit the same piece multiple times.

BOOTCAMP

(FOR PERSONAL REPERTOIRE)

KitchenJam Bootcamps provide a space for students to work on their own repertoire alongside rhythm training. It caters to all skill levels—from beginners to advanced players—offering personalised practice sessions with feedback and guidance from a master teacher.

Whether it's chops from other classes or specific repertoire pieces, these classes help students improve their playing with the teacher's support.

BEGINNER ELECTRIC AND ACOUSTIC GUITAR

Beginner is a state of mind rather than a real place on the guitar, so our Beginner Acoustic and Electric Guitar classes are open to anyone who feels like a beginner, regardless of their actual skill level.

Beginner Acoustic classes cover the chords and foundational techniques that will get you playing songs from your first few lessons, even if you think you can't yet. Beginner Electric classes are similar, focusing on chords and finger movement, as well as soloing and scales specifically for electric guitar playing.

Both classes are taught in a supportive environment for beginners to learn and improve their playing skills without judgement.

STUDENT BANDS

Our bands give players a regular space to rehearse, lock in with others, and prepare for the stage. Setlists are built over time, with live shows as the goal.
