Guitar lessons in Stratford

KitchenJam runs guitar lessons in Stratford from our own studio in East Village, E20, a short walk from Stratford station. Sessions are small groups, up to five people, with a teacher in the room, and you learn by playing songs from the first week. Kids, teens and adults, complete beginners welcome. Start with a free trial session (we call it a Soundcheck), where we find the right group for you.

Our East Village studio is Kitchen Jam’s original home. A purpose-built music studio in the heart of Stratford, shaped over time by the players who learn here.

What's On

  • Classes

    Guitar and bass lessons for kids, teens and adults. Real songs, regular jamming, and building confidence through playing.

  • KitchenJam Socials

    Monthly workshops built around one song, one band, and a bigger shared jam session. We break it down and play it through, with space to hang out once the playing’s done.

  • Gigs

    Gigs are about taking the music out of the studio and onto the stage. A chance to play live, share the music, and experience performing as part of something bigger.

  • Student bands

    Our bands give players a regular space to rehearse, lock in with others, and prepare for the stage. Setlists are built over time, with live shows as the goal.

  • Where is the studio?

    8-10 Penny Brookes Street, East Village, London E20 1BN. It's the Olympic Park side of Stratford, a short walk from Stratford station and Westfield.

  • Who are the lessons for?

    Kids, teens and adults. Most of our students started as adult beginners. We have a Core Guitar session for people starting out and Guitar Lab for players who want to go further.

  • Are lessons one-to-one or in a group?

    Small groups, up to five people, with a teacher in the room. Groups keep it fun and keep you turning up, which is how people actually get good.

  • How do I start?

    Book a free trial session. We call it a Soundcheck: you meet a teacher, play a bit and we find the right group and time for you.

  • How much is it?

    Membership is monthly and covers up to five sessions a month. Current prices are on our prices page.

  • Do I need my own guitar?

    Not for your first sessions, we have guitars in the studio. Most students get their own once they're hooked.

  • Is there parking?

    It's easier by train or bike. Stratford, Stratford International and Westfield's car parks are all close by.
